We take this opportunity to thank all the poeple responsible for being a part of the event and for their immense effort in making the event a success.
The umpires for the fun tournament have done a great job and we really appreciate their enthusiasm and work in playing such a crucial part in making this event a success. They have done their job, leaving no room for any controversies, on-field or off. We individually thank the umpires: Vinay Jayappa, Sushanth, Prasad, Praveen Ramanan, Sandeep Rana, Raja, Vishal and Samuel. Special thanks to Vinay for taking up the responsibility of assigning umpires for each match.
The electronic scoreboard was one of the highlights of this tournament. Thanks to Rohit for implementing the idea of having it. We also thank the scorers for their patience and attention paid to note down each run and ball, and also helping the umpires. We thank Vikranth, Rohit Gali, Vinodh, Rohit M, Sushma, Dinesh, Sandeep P, Pavani, Aditya U.S, Ashok and Samuel for taking care of the scoring. Special thanks to Rohit M for also putting up the statistics regarding the batting rankings.
A major reason for the publicity of the event as well as it being mentioned in the collegian has been the flier, designed by Dinesh. We thank Dinesh for the effort put in for designing the flier and also for designing the website for Fun Cricket 08. The logo - "bowley" which was the t-shirt design has also been designed by him. The website for fun cricket has been awesome and the credit for all this goes to Dinesh. Along with this, we thank all the people who gave publicity for this event by talking to others and by encouraging the people to form teams.
A Special thanks to Sakthi Yuvaraja for his quality work in taking the spectacular photographs. We appreciate his effort and enthusiasm for staying focused and capturing many moments, which will remain memorable for us for time to come.
Music being one of the most entertaining part of the tournament, we thank Kranthi Nuthi for playing the ‘DJ’ for the event and also Vinodh for his helping hand. We thank Aditya, Pavani and Sushma for taking care of the refreshments. A huge thanks to Sandeep Pulluri, Ashok and Prasad for extending their helping hand all throughout the tournament especially for transportation.
We thank Dinesh, Rohit M, Sandeep Pulluri, Pavani, Sushma, Prasad and Samuel for setting up the field and taking care of the arrangements.
When we had many apprehensions regarding the tournament, we had constant encouragement and support from the previous committee members, especially Sushanth. He has helped in deciding the format and schedule, for which good amount of effort was spent. It was a big task to arrive at a consensus satisfying all the constraints. His suggestions and timely feedback have helped us keep things on track.
We also thank the audience who have turned at all the matches and have made this event very interesting by cheering the players. The turn up of families and friends for this event was really encouraging, not just for their support to the teams, but to the event as whole.
We also thank you all for the valuable suggestions, in the form of e-mails, messages in the forum and direct communication to the committee members. They were really helpful in conducting the tournament.
Finally, as with every event (since there is a probability of human error and since our memories are not 100% reliable), if we haven't mentioned the names of any of you, who have volunteered, we really thank you and we believe that you'll understand this. This event wouldn't have been possible without your contribution.
