About Long’s Park
History:
"This park was laid out in the community's original plat. Located just East of old Highway 40 N the park served as a popular resting place for travelers. The Long Oil company established a service station in the Northwest corner of the park around 1926. This station was later used by the Sinclair Refining Company. During this period, the outside area of the park was used as a trailer camp. The park is now considered to be a neighborhood park used for family gatherings, day use, and an occasional special event. Established shade trees provide the ideal setting for passive use activities."
